Lens System
Thin layers of material over your eyes and eardrums, and a processor smaller than a paperclip set in one of your temples. Roughly equivalent in purpose to a smartphone, controllable by eye-tracking, voice, AR touchscreens, and wireless peripherals. Capable of managing other cyberware; without this you are largely limited to voice command and wireless interface over unknown protocols. Total computational resources are roughly equivalent to 120 high-end 2020-era personal computers. Does not augment the senses directly, but can act as a superior hearing aid or corrective lens, zoom in on distant objects, pick targets out of a crowd, shield against glare and loud noises, enter alternate vision modes such as thermal or low-light, and project very basic defensive fields.
Focal Limb
A complete replacement for one of your arms. Slightly stronger and faster than an ordinary human arm, and significantly more durable. Acts as a high-quality focus for unaligned magic, minorly boosts your magical power, and provides a small amount of mana. A dedicated processing unit set at the base of your skull automates certain elements of magic use, and allows you to cast from a small catalogue of low-level spells even without any understanding of magic.
Skill Dumps
A set of eight injector vials, used at the base of the neck to provide almost-instantaneous skill within an area such as “programming”, “magery”, or “swordsmanship”. The skill provided is at the level of an elite professional, but does not include conscious knowledge. Each use of a skill dump moderately accelerates mental function, such that use of all eight would more than double mental speed.
Health Organ
A new organ set below the heart. Collects silver from your blood to produce a basic health fluid. Some health fluid is fed back into the body continuously, accelerating and enhancing natural healing, providing supplementary nutrition, balancing body chemistry, and generally improving physical condition. Aging is moderately slowed, and physical fitness can be improved at more than five times the normal rate with sufficient effort; you could grow strong enough to lift two tons within just a handful of years. When significant trauma is detected, the healing organ uses its reserves to repair the damage almost instantly. This cannot restore lost limbs, missing organs, or damaged cyberware.
Armor Weave
A mesh of fine filaments set just beneath the skin, and atop any external cyberware. Projects an unpowered defensive field up to several millimeters above the skin, with protective capabilities comparable to half a millimeter of steel plate. Capable of simple holographic camouflage, concealing your heat signature, negating radar returns, and dampening sound. Usable as a grinding and cutting tool, within the limits of its range.
Powered Skeleton
Indestructible struts and powerful frictionless motors replacing much of your skeletal system. Renders you significantly stronger and faster. Immunizes you against most bone or joint injuries, renders muscle damage less relevant. Theoretically capable of transforming up to a megawatt of power into physical force. Though “indestructible”, the struts used will crumble to dust at some point in the next several centuries, or decades if maintained poorly.
Power Core
A half-kilowatt solar power array (functional day, night, and underground) embedded in your chest, and a compact fuel tank. The fuel tank’s energy content compares favorably to thirty kilograms of jet fuel, and stored energy can be spent almost arbitrarily quickly. Improves the effectiveness of most other cyberware. Manufacturing more fuel is possible with a vacuum chamber and a precisely-tuned set of crystalline lenses. With one cubic inch of flawless quartz, you could produce a full tank of fuel in about three years; proportionately more swiftly, with additional crystal.
Micromissile Launcher
A block roughly the size of a cell phone, embedded under the skin at any reasonable location. Contains fourty smart micromissiles and requisite targeting systems. Can be assigned orders preemptively, allowing it to fire off its entire cargo within half a second if the situation calls for it. Each missile contains a microfission warhead with adjustable yield up to one kilogram of high explosives, and has an effective range of six kilometers. With the equivalent of a small supercollider, you can produce the materials for a few tons of microfission explosives per year.
Emergency Fabricator Array
A large set of collapsed fabricators in the abdomen. Inflates as needed to perform printing tasks, unnoticeable while collapsed. Inertial stabilization allows the bearer to continue normal physical function while fabricators operate. Draws mercury and copper from the blood to manufacture objects at a rate of slightly less than one kilogram per day; mass-equivalency is not maintained. Capable of constructing a broad array of technologies far beyond Earth of 2020, with a database of thousands of print schema, including the components to construct full industrial printers.
Flight Pack
An assembly the size of a large water bottle on the upper back. Capable of nullifying most of the bearer’s mass indefinitely. Projectors telescope out of the main assembly to generate shaped fields akin to small wings, while rotors within the base provide thrust sufficient for 70MPH flight. Controlled by a combination of AI guidance and direct connection to the nervous system. Driven by metabolism-charged batteries, allows for up to one hour of controlled flight.
